To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini released 15/09/2020
Review written by Lee W.C. Jervis This is a side-step for Paolini from his more well-established fantasy series into the foray of ‘space fantasy’. It's unlike other books, as I frequent non-fiction or fantasy. Spoilers below

To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers released 8/8/2019 is not a book that immediately grabs the reader, but instead slowly sinks into your subconsciousness until you find yourself pondering its themes days after finishing it. Spoilers ahead, continue at your own risk!
All The Lonely People by David Owen blog tour.
This book to me was such a raw and honest view on both aspects of being bullied and being behind the bullying. This isn't typically what I use this blog for but after reading 'Everything I know about Love' by Dolly Alderton I thought I would share everything I have learnt this year. In my last blog post of 2018.
In 2010 I was introduced to two YouTubers, Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day who had set up their accounts in 2006. Previously YouTube for me was a platform to watch music videos and ‘Drunk Cooking with Hannah Hart’ so moving on to new content felt like a privilege.
The Beasts Heart by Leife Shallcross, UK Release date 3/5/2018
Spoilers ahead I got a bit carried away with the review! “Let all who look upon you see the nature of the heart beating in your breast” I am extremely bad at keeping this website up to date as I do tend to use my Instagram (bookstagram) more up to date, I however have been incredibly busy these past couple of weeks, I am posting something on the 5/5/18 to do with the above mentioned book as a part of a blog tour.
This book is something that I have enjoyed reading as Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite fairy tales, and I hope that I do this book justice with a fair review. Keep your eyes peeled :) https://violettebooks.wordpress.com/ https://escapadesofabookworm.com/ http://acraveforbooks.blogspot.co.uk/ https://betweenthepages13.wordpress.com/ http://lovelyowlsbooks.co.uk/ https://myendlessshelf.weebly.com/ http://jessheartsbooks.blogspot.co.uk/ https://chaininteraction.wordpress.com/ https://avid-bibliophile.blogspot.co.uk/ https://thebooklightblog.wordpress.com/ https://booksandlemonsquash.com/ Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young - Release date 24/04/2018
Spoiler free review "OND ELDR. BREATHE FIRE. Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansmen in an ancient rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield—her brother, fighting with the enemy—the brother she watched die five years ago." Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series is one of my all-time favourite book series, I have read them quite a few times and I am always encapsulated by this story. Beautifully written and utterly wonderful stories.
I’ve read this book series several times and I still enjoy it every single time I read it; I also find new details every time that I do read this series. My only downfall of this is that I have lost half of the books due to moving houses! It has a magical world alongside our own, based in America, it has absolutely fantastic story lines, with different characters in the same world who interact with each other, so the books are interlinked and a whole world, so you’re not left wondering what the characters are up to, and they’re not ignored. I love it. There’s 5 books and 4 short stories alongside them, adding to the stories in the 5 books. The first one is Wicked Lovely, followed by Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows, and the final book is Darkest Mercy. The additional stories which I originally didn’t read in any order, which I realise wasn’t the best idea, as they’re in a specific order! These are Desert Tales, which correlates with Wicked Lovely. Old Habits and Stopping Time correlate with Ink Exchange. The last book in the additional stories doesn’t really go with any of the other books, it just adds to the world, this one is named Love Struck, and it’s a cute little story about a woman and a Selkie. All of these stories are found in a single book, which has other little stories in it too, named Faery tales and Nightmares and it is a marvellous book. All of these stories are based around faeries and the fae world. I don’t want to delve too much into it for fear of ruining the plot of the books for you, I’ll leave the blurb of the first book below though! I highly, highly recommend this book series though, it is my all-time favourite, and I fell in love with it straight away! "Rule #3: Don’t stare at invisible faeries Aislinn has always seen faeries Powerful and dangerous. they walk hidden in mortal world Aislinn fears their cruelty-. especially if they learn of her Sight-and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens. Rule #2: Don’t speak to invisible faeries Now faeries are stalking her One of them. Keenan. who is equal parts terrifying and alluring is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer. Rule #1: Don’t ever attract their attention but it’s too late Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries Without her. summer itself. will perish He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost-regardless of her plans or desires Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe…" |
