Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series is one of my all-time favourite book series, I have read them quite a few times and I am always encapsulated by this story. Beautifully written and utterly wonderful stories.
I’ve read this book series several times and I still enjoy it every single time I read it; I also find new details every time that I do read this series. My only downfall of this is that I have lost half of the books due to moving houses! It has a magical world alongside our own, based in America, it has absolutely fantastic story lines, with different characters in the same world who interact with each other, so the books are interlinked and a whole world, so you’re not left wondering what the characters are up to, and they’re not ignored. I love it. There’s 5 books and 4 short stories alongside them, adding to the stories in the 5 books. The first one is Wicked Lovely, followed by Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows, and the final book is Darkest Mercy. The additional stories which I originally didn’t read in any order, which I realise wasn’t the best idea, as they’re in a specific order! These are Desert Tales, which correlates with Wicked Lovely. Old Habits and Stopping Time correlate with Ink Exchange. The last book in the additional stories doesn’t really go with any of the other books, it just adds to the world, this one is named Love Struck, and it’s a cute little story about a woman and a Selkie. All of these stories are found in a single book, which has other little stories in it too, named Faery tales and Nightmares and it is a marvellous book. All of these stories are based around faeries and the fae world. I don’t want to delve too much into it for fear of ruining the plot of the books for you, I’ll leave the blurb of the first book below though! I highly, highly recommend this book series though, it is my all-time favourite, and I fell in love with it straight away! "Rule #3: Don’t stare at invisible faeries Aislinn has always seen faeries Powerful and dangerous. they walk hidden in mortal world Aislinn fears their cruelty-. especially if they learn of her Sight-and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens. Rule #2: Don’t speak to invisible faeries Now faeries are stalking her One of them. Keenan. who is equal parts terrifying and alluring is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer. Rule #1: Don’t ever attract their attention but it’s too late Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries Without her. summer itself. will perish He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost-regardless of her plans or desires Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe…"
