Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series is one of my all-time favourite book series, I have read them quite a few times and I am always encapsulated by this story. Beautifully written and utterly wonderful stories.
I’ve read this book series several times and I still enjoy it every single time I read it; I also find new details every time that I do read this series. My only downfall of this is that I have lost half of the books due to moving houses! It has a magical world alongside our own, based in America, it has absolutely fantastic story lines, with different characters in the same world who interact with each other, so the books are interlinked and a whole world, so you’re not left wondering what the characters are up to, and they’re not ignored. I love it. There’s 5 books and 4 short stories alongside them, adding to the stories in the 5 books. The first one is Wicked Lovely, followed by Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows, and the final book is Darkest Mercy. The additional stories which I originally didn’t read in any order, which I realise wasn’t the best idea, as they’re in a specific order! These are Desert Tales, which correlates with Wicked Lovely. Old Habits and Stopping Time correlate with Ink Exchange. The last book in the additional stories doesn’t really go with any of the other books, it just adds to the world, this one is named Love Struck, and it’s a cute little story about a woman and a Selkie. All of these stories are found in a single book, which has other little stories in it too, named Faery tales and Nightmares and it is a marvellous book. All of these stories are based around faeries and the fae world. I don’t want to delve too much into it for fear of ruining the plot of the books for you, I’ll leave the blurb of the first book below though! I highly, highly recommend this book series though, it is my all-time favourite, and I fell in love with it straight away! "Rule #3: Don’t stare at invisible faeries Aislinn has always seen faeries Powerful and dangerous. they walk hidden in mortal world Aislinn fears their cruelty-. especially if they learn of her Sight-and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens. Rule #2: Don’t speak to invisible faeries Now faeries are stalking her One of them. Keenan. who is equal parts terrifying and alluring is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer. Rule #1: Don’t ever attract their attention but it’s too late Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries Without her. summer itself. will perish He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost-regardless of her plans or desires Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe…"

As someone who sometimes finds it difficult to put a book down. I often find myself wandering around the house or to work (if it’s a particularly enthralling read) either with a physical book or on the Kindle app on my phone.
I’ve been so enthralled by books before, so much that I had to continue reading them on route to work and back again, you’d be surprised by how addictive good writing is! So I devised some safety tips (mostly by trial and error) for reading whilst wandering about. Keep an eye on your feet. I know this sounds silly, but if you are aware of where your feet are and where the pavement/general floor is in correlation, you’re less likely to fall over. Occasionally look up. Best time I’ve found is when you’re either turning the page, or starting a new sentence – just a quick glance, nothing spectacular. Don’t read whilst crossing the road. I recommend this highly! Even if the road is empty, who knows what kind of moronic person will suddenly appear speeding down the road or around a corner. No matter how captivating that part of the book is, pause and make sure you’re safe! Read in a familiar place. I have been known to read on my phone to work, and it’s such a familiar route I don’t really need to look where I’m going, unless there’s foot traffic or actual traffic… I read once down a road I wasn’t familiar with and walked in to a lamppost – typical! Always be aware of your surroundings. As afore mentioned, walking in to lampposts or any kind of post isn’t fun, and I’ll admit, painful! So just be aware of where and who you are (clumsiness is a thing!) Don’t read in the rain (simple I know!) I use my phone for reading (not every book though, can’t bring myself to read Terry Pratchett books on any form of Kindle), so I have read outside in the rain, purely because the book had me in its willing arms. I also have a mostly waterproof phone, but I’ve had to put it away as the rain blurs the screen, and it ‘smudges’ the words (it’ll make sense if you’ve read on your phone, in the rain!) It just doesn’t look good or right! These sound pretty simple, but it’s looking at the small things and making a big picture. I value safety in other people, maybe not myself, as I have done all of these things and managed to fail in all of these too! Grim Lovelies - Release Date - 2/10/2018
